BIOGRAPHY
Australian born singer/songwriter Josh McIvor has been exciting audiences in the Sydney music scene, performing at numerous venues, pubs, clubs, football stadiums & high schools.
With a strong likening for music at a young age he was given his first guitar spending endless hours listening to bands like Metallica, Pearl Jam and Soundgarden. By age 14 had become quite an accomplished guitarist.
With a natural ear for melody and good lyrical phrasing it wasn’t to long before he had realized his desire to sing and began expanding his abilities into singing & songwriting.
Josh had written and recorded his first song at age 15 which continuely played on the local radio station and started performing in the Sydney pub circirt at 15. So now with years of hard work and travel,performing from pub to club,venue to venue he has matured into a exceptionally crafted contempory artist with a raw honest vocal and catchy songwriting lyrics that draw you in.
In early 2010 Josh was chosen as an ambassador to represent JAM4AWARENESS a project aimed at raising awareness of social issues to children and young people in schools using music as a medium to communicate.This project is supported by some of Australia’s highest profile bands & artists including Delta Goodremn, Diesel, Ian Moss, Blue King Brown, Missy Higgins, Vanessa Amorosi, Christine McHugh and USA Export “Sick Puppies” The Australian Rugby League & N S W Police.
