Natasha Duarté
is a prolific songwriter, guitarist and powerhouse vocalist. With live shows every week in Sydney, she is continuously active in the music scene. Drawing inspiration from a wide range of genres her music has immense diversity. Her current album ‘Living Proof’, which is solely written by the songstress, is a testament to her incredible Song writing abilities and credibility as an artist.
As a performer Natasha has been gigging with various bands and acoustically in pubs, clubs, festivals and cafes since she was 13 years old. In 2010, Natasha was given a feature spot at the Live showcase of the APRA Song Summit in front of a room of industry heavyweights and professional songwriters. This event was held at the Home Night Club in Darling Harbour. In 2012, Natasha was invited to play at Music Matters in Singapore where she performed live with her band winning more fans. Last year Natasha performed over 140 gigs and was fortunate enough to support acts such as Thirsty Merc, Eurogliders, Mental as Anything and The Radiators to name a few.
As a composer Natasha has been awarded many accolades that most would dream about. In 2012 she won First Place (Teen Category) in the (ISC) International Songwriting Competition based in Nashville, USA with her song ‘The Worst Part’ with over 16,000 entries from 112 countries. Natasha shared the spotlight with other Australian/NZ winners including Missy Higgins for Best Folk Song and the overall winner Kimbra. Then in 2015, she was awarded first place in the UK Songwriting Competition in the Rock Category for her song ‘Kissing Lips’. Along with many other Songwriting achievements Natasha first single debuted on the Australian ARIA Charts at Nr.14 and charted at Nr.2 on the Air Indy Charts.
One of Natasha’s passions is being able to support humanitarian causes through her music. During her years of performing, Natasha has performed at national events such as Youth Week, Teens Against Whaling and even organised a concert with Camden City Church raising $5,000 for the victims of the Black Saturday Bushfires. She was still only 15 years old! In 2014, she was asked to perform at the Tour de Cure Inaugural Ball at Doltone House, Darling Harbour as a featured artist in front of a list of Invited guests, where they raised over $550,000 on the night. Along with this comes Natasha’s strong ties to music therapy since becoming an ambassador for the ACMF (Australian Children’s Music Foundation) and the benefits it has on patients, she believes that music is one of the most powerful tools we have and it is a beautiful thing to see it being used to help so many individuals.
